Odense Aafart also offers pedal boat rentals. You have the opportunity to sail around and enjoy the tranquility of the river and the beautiful nature, while you have a few pleasant and relaxing hours in the company of your family, girlfriend or friends.

Rental at Odense Aafart pendal boats follow the opening hours of the kiosk. You must have started your trip one hour before the kiosk closes at the latest.

The pendal boats cannot be reserved in advance.

130 DKK per hour

If you sail longer than 1 hour, you pay for the extra time when you pick up your ID at the kiosk after the trip.

It is settled per started 15 minutes.

  • To rent a pedal boat, you must hand in valid identification (driving license or passport – if you are under 18, health insurance is ok) at the kiosk at the same time as you pay for the first hour’s rental. It is a requirement for the rental that valid identification is presented.
  • There is a maximum of four adults and one small child (max. 3 years or max. 300 kg) in a pedal boat. If there are more than 4 people (or more than 300 kg), you must rent an extra pedal boat. Both requirements must be met. Thus, you cannot sail 5 people even if you weigh less than 300 kg.
  • If you sail longer than 1 hour, you pay for the extra time when you pick up your ID at the kiosk after the trip. It is settled per started 15 minutes.
  • It is a good idea to go to the toilet and buy a coffee before you rent the pedal boats, as your time starts as soon as you have paid.
  • We have no life jackets.

Rules

  • Sailing in our pedal boats is at your own risk.
  • If there is one of more people under the age of 13-years-old in the pedal boat, there must be at least one person over the age of 18 in the boat.
  • Please be aware that you need to move for any tour boats that also sail on the river.
  • Loudspeakers may not be brought onboard.
  • The pedal boats must be returned to the kiosk.
  • We do not store bags or anything else you bring with you. You must take that with you on the pedal boats.
  • We do not rent pedal boats to visibly intoxicated/drunk persons. Nor to anyone who brings large amounts of alcohol. Large speakers are also not allowed. The person responsible in the kiosk decides whether you can rent a pedal boat.
  • The pedal boats can NOT be reserved in advance.

Is it possible to reserve a pedal boat in advance?

No, it is first come, first served.

How does it work?

To rent a pedal boat, you have to turn in a valid ID in the kiosk, when you are paying for the first hour of rent. It is not possible to rent a pedal boat without an ID.

What is the minimum age for renting a pedal boat?

If there are one or more people under the age of 13 in the boat, there needs to be at least one person over the age of 18.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, if you believe that it will be okay with sailing in a pedal boat.

For how long can I rent a pedal boat?

You always pay for the first hour. You are allowed to be on the river for a longer time but you have to be back before the kiosk closes. Always ask for the opening hours before sailing. If you are sailing for more than 1 hour, you will have to pay for every started 15 minutes.

Are there any student or senior discount?

No, but you can get a 15% discount with an annual pass.

Can I bring my own drinks and food on board the pedal boats?

Yes, but make sure that you take all of the garbage with you when you leave the pedal boat.

Is smoking allowed on board the pedal boat?

Yes, smoking is allowed on the pedal boats as long as you do not throw the cigarette stub in the river or leave it on the pedal boat.

Can I bring my speaker on board the pedal boat?

Loud music is not allowed on the pedal boat and therefore it is not allowed to bring a loudspeaker. If you have a loudspeaker with you, please leave it in the kiosk during the sailing.

Can we leave our stroller while sailing?

Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to keep your stroller while sailing.

Can we leave our luggage while sailing?

Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to keep your luggage while sailing. You have to take that with you on the pedal boats.

Can we borrow life jackets?

You do not need life jackets while sailing the pedal boat. Thus, if you want to wear a life jacket, you have to bring it yourself.

Where can I park my car?

There is a car park just across Aafarten – See the map of the area here.

Parking by Aafarten’s kiosk is a good idea as that is where you find the pedal boats. By the Aafart’s kiosk, you can find rows of parking options for cars. Odense C offers a lot of options for parking, however, most of them require payment or are only for a limited time. Our recommendation is for you to park at the parking house ‘Filosoffen’, which is close to Odense Aafart. Our guests receive a discount for parking in Filosoffen’s parking house by booking HERE.

You can take the free Citybus, which stops almost at Aafarten. Get off at Søndergade/Vestergade or Holsdore. The bus drives approx. every 10 minutes: Monday-Friday 9-16.30 and Saturday 11-15.30. During festivals and major events, e.g., in August and September, there may be alternative routes. Therefore, keep an eye on the timetable here.
