One Day-Trip at Odense Aafart

Odense has a lot to offer, especially in the summer. With a ticket to Odense Aafart you can visit both Odense Zoo and Fruens Bøge by sailing along the river. Try out a one day-trip at Odense Aafart with the wonderful Odense Å in Focus

Odense Å was the inspiration for many of H.C. Andersen’s fairytales, including The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, The Bell Deep, O.T., and She Was Good for Nothing. With a trip along Odense Å, you get closer to H.C. Andersen and this thought and ideas behind his fairytales.

A Scenic and Eventful Sail

On the route you will pass Langelinie with some of Denmarks most beautiful and best located houses. Then you reach Ådalen where Odense Boldklub is located move deeper and deeper into a jungle-like forest surrounding Odense Å. When you reach Odense Zoo, you can choose to hop off and enter the zoo if you have a ticket. The ticket can be bought in Munke Mose when purchasing the ticket for the tour boat. In Munke Mose, it is also possible to buy coffee, beer, wine, ice cream and more for the boat ride.

When passing the zoo, you can see some of the zoo’s animals on both sides of the boat, including zebras. After the zoo, the boat will arrive at Fruens Bøge – a beautiful beech forest with a large lake where you can buy ice cream and more.

If you take a right in Fruens Bøge you can visit Restaurant Bondestuen or Restaurant Skovbakken. Both restaurants serve a delicious Danish omelette. If you show your ticket to Odense Aafart, you will receive a free beer/water when buying lunch.

A 10 minutes walk from here, Den Fynske Landsby is located where you can experience how a regular, Funen village worked for over 200 years ago. It is also possible to eat at Sortebro Kro. Late you can take the boat back to Munke Mose with the same ticket.

Furthermore, every weekend during the summer months, there will be music on the boats. Here you can enjoy lots of great Jam bands, coverbands, blues bands, and jazz bands on the boat while you slowly move through the nature.

It is also possible to rent a canoe at go on solo adventures. This is a great way to find your own fairytales along Odense Å. You can do the same thing in the pedal boats.
